Smart Card Payments

We answer your questions about credit and debit card processing services.

If you’re new to accepting card payments or are switching your provider, we answer your frequently asked questions about card processing below:

Q. How much can I save by switching to Smart Card Payments?

A. This is dependant on your current deal but some customers have seen up to 45% savings which is huge.

Q. Will it cost me to leave my current supplier?

A. If you are tied into a contract it will cost you to leave, but if you have large usage then talk to us and we will see if we can work something out for you.

Q. If I have a current contract with another provider, when is the best time for us to contact you regarding moving our business to Smart Card Payments?

A. We would recommend 4/6 weeks before your contract is due to end. This allows us to give you some pricing, put the agreements in place and make all the necessary arrangements prior to the old agreement out, thus guaranteeing you always have the facility to take card payments.

Q. How long does it take to set up an account?

A. An account can be up and running, accepting card payments in as littles as 4 or 5 days. The process is only generally held up due to delays with the application form and any relevant ID’s.

Q. When switching will there be a break in the service?

A. We always recommend you get Smart Card Payments in place prior to cancelling the old contract. This then guarantees you’ll always have a card payments facility in place and working.

Q. How long does it take for the money to reach my bank account?

A. Payments are made on a next working day settlement basis.

Q. What support do Smart Card Payments offer?

A. We offer all our card payments customers a dedicated account manager, and we also offer customer service and support helpline numbers. These are provided when you sign up to Smart Card Payments.
